Susan Edwards and Christopher Edwards murdered Susan Edwards's parents Patricia Wycherley and William Wycherley who they shot with a World War Two .38 commando revolver on the May Day Bank Holiday weekend in 1998.
They then buried them in the back garden of the house two weeks later.
The next day they took out £40k from their bank account. In total over the years they took £245k from the parents estate including the sale of their house in 2005.
In September 2012 the Department for Works and Pensions requested a face to face meeting with William Wycherley as he would have been approaching his 100th birthday after which they fled to France. However, they soon ran out of money and Christopher Edwards wrote to his stepmother asking for money and confessed to the killings after which the stepmother contacted the police.
They were arrested after they returned to England by train and the bodies of Patricia Wycherley and William Wycherley were dug up in 2013.
